Study Plan
I. Program Duration
The normal study duration of Doctor of Business Administration program is 3 years. The maximum duration is 6 years. (Students admitted in or before academic year 2018/2019, please refer to the rules and regulations as stipulated in the intake academic year study plan).

IV. Admission Requirements
Applicants who have a master’s degree from a recognized university with at least 5 years working experience in management related areas and have passed the entrance examination given by the Macau University of Science and Technology.

VII. Course Requirements
In the first academic year, students are required to complete 8 core courses listed in Table 1. The courses are conducted in the form of lecture, seminar, and instructed readings.
Students are required to submit a report at the end of each course. The course performance is assessed according to class participation, project presentations, and other comprehensive evaluations.
Students are required to submit two annual papers in the first and second academic years.
In the second and third academic years, students are required to complete and submit enterprise investigation reports.
After completing the 8 core courses listed in Table 1 and earning 24 credits, students are required to write a research proposal. Upon completion of thesis proposal defense, students can start the thesis writing subject to the requirement from School of Business (MSB). The duration for DBA thesis writing is 24 months. The duration for thesis writing and revision should be no less than 12 months.
During the study period, students must publish at least one paper recognized by MSB. Then, they can attain the arrangement for DBA thesis oral defense.
The DBA thesis must pass the examination and oral defense.
VIII. Study Time
The duration for taking core courses is 12 months and the duration for thesis writing is 24 months.
The class schedule follows an intensive system, with each course being taught for four and a half days (including Saturdays and Sundays).
XV. Graduation Requirements
Upon approval from the Senate of the University, the Doctor of Business Administration degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has:
(1) Completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific study period, and achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.50* or above (excluding thesis)
(2) Abided by the regulations of the University
(3) Cleared all fees and charges and returned all University’s property and equipment borrowed
If students pass all courses required in Tables 1 and 2 with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, but fail to submit or pass the final thesis oral defense during the specified period, he/she can only get a completion certificate.
