MBGZ01 Global Operations and Supply Chain Management (3 credits)

This course introduces the concepts, policies, and the related issues in global supply chain, including the connection and the difference between supply chain and logistics. It emphasizes the application of supply chain knowledge and theory. Hence numerous cases are introduced and analyzed, so as to lead students how to apply supply chain related theory and technique to real business, and solve the related problems in supply chain management.


MBGZ02 Management Science with Practice (3 credits)

This course aims to introduce how to use spreadsheets to build various models in management science, and provides the support for decision makers. Specifically, it demonstrates how to build and conduct linear programming, sensitivity analysis, network models, integer/goal/nonlinear programming, regression analysis, data mining, time series forecasting, and simulation through detailed cases.


MBGZ03 Research Design and Analysis (3 credits)

This course introduces research design, qualitative and quantitative research methods, so as to conduct innovative research. Specifically, it includes defining research problem, literature review, investigating research gap, building research models and hypotheses, design research tools, data collection and analysis, managerial implication, and final research report.


MBGZ04 Empirical Analysis in Supply Chain Management (3 credits)

This course aims to help research students master the fundamental theory and methods in statistics so as to analyze and solve the related issues in supply chain management. Specifically, it emphasizes the concepts and principals of factor analysis, regression analysis, logistic regression, discriminant analysis, reliability and route analysis, and their application in quality control and hypothesis in supply chain management.


MBGZ05 Business Game Theory (3 credits)

This course aims to enable research students use game theory and its analytical methods to solve real business issues. Specifically, it introduces complete static game, complete dynamic game, incomplete static game, incomplete dynamic game, and their applications in supply chain management.


MBGZ06 Business Optimization Theory (3 credits)

This course provides the advanced application in supply chain management. It mainly adopts operational research to solve the issues in supply chain management. Operational research uses statistics and mathematical models to find out the optimal or approximate best solutions for supply chains.


MBGZ07 Supply Chain Modeling and Simulation (3 credits)

This course introduces the theory in system simulation, modelling and analysis, and enable research students use Area to simulate queuing system, production system, and service system. It provides numerous cases to help students build the models for various real projects, analyze performance, and make decision with Area.


MBGZ08 Project Management in Convention and Exhibition (3 credits)

This course introduces fundamental theory and principals of project management, and investigates project planning, execution and control. Specifically, it includes enterprise structure, project selection, leadership, scope management, team set-up, conflict coordination, cost/progress/resource management, project evaluation, and so on. Furthermore, it provides real application of project management in convention exhibition.


MBGZ09 Big Data Analytics in Supply Chain (3 credits)

With the rapid development of big data technique in various industries, supply chain solutions based on big data become popular. This course introduces the application of big data in supply chain management, including the unique advantage of big data analytics, the feature, common analytical methods, and some typical application of big data.


MBGZ10 Data Driven Approaches and Applications (3 credits)

Data driven is another quantitative methods different from analytical modelling. It starts from data, and results from data analytics. This course introduces main application of data driven and some typical problems to be solvable. Furthermore, it provides some analytical methods based on data, including Monte Carlo, and their application cases, limitation and possible solutions.


MBGZ11 Supply Chain Financing (3 credits)

Supply chain financing is a new subject integrating supply chain management and trade financing. This course discusses about the concept, feature, research background, basic business models (e.g., receivable payment), and risk management. It enables research students understand supply chain financing, and develop innovative financing modes and the corresponding risk controlling policy with case study and group discussion.


MBGZ12 Special Topic in Supply Chain Analysis (3 credits)

This course introduces common analytic models in supply chain management, and enables research students collect data, build models, solve the problems based on computers, and make final decisions. Specifically, it includes demand forecasting, break-even analysis, material requirement planning, purchasing management, production scheduling, inventory management, distribution and transportation. The methods covers mathematical modelling, forecasting model, network analysis, inventory models, statistics, queueing theory, and system simulation.


MBGZ13 Internet Plus and Supply Chain (3 credits)

With the quick development of internet technology, supply chain business transfers from offline to online, leading to a new business mode. This course enables research students have some insight of change in supply chain under internet plus, and the new opportunity and challenges resulting from the integration of internet plus and supply chain. Furthermore, it provides some solutions from the perspectives of empirical and mathematical modelling.


MBGZ14 Supply Chain and Enterprise Resource Planning (3 credits)

This course introduces supply chain principles, practices and procedures as applied to a computerized environment of learned in supply chain courses. It includes setup of supply chain system, simulation of purchasing management, sales management, inventory management, inventory accounting, ending business, and integrated training of supply chain management. It enables students obtain the skill to manage the whole supply chain with ERP, analyze the supply chain and solve the real issues in supply chain.
