Gao Qixin, a third-year Supply Chain Management student in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at the School of Business (MSB) of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), headed to Shanghai upon the recommendation and the supervision of Professor Tang Huajun to join the “2026 Cross-Strait, and Hong Kong-Macao Youth Skills Invitational Competition (Youth Technical Innovation Research Camp)”. He performed with his solid professional foundation and skilled practical expertise to deliver an outstanding performance during the on-site presentation, while demonstrating clear thinking and responding with ease during the Q&A session. Ultimately, he stood out from numerous contestants to win the Gold Award in this category, winning great honor for the university. This achievement not only showcases Gao’s strength and professional competence in the field of logistics and freight forwarding, but also reflects the remarkable success of the MUST MSB in talent cultivation.

This year’s invitational competition was hosted by the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Cross-Strait and Hong Kong-Macao Youth Skills Invitational Competition and co-hosted by Shanghai Polytechnic University. The various events were successfully held at Shanghai Second Polytechnic University from July 14 to 15, 2026. The competition attracted approximately 100 young students to participate, featuring six main categories, including Robot System Integration, CAD Mechanical Design, Logistics and Freight Forwarding, Web Technology, Beauty Treatment and Hairdressing. With the core mission of “Promote learning through competition, foster friendships through skills, nourish minds with culture, advance integration through communication”, the competition meticulously established a comprehensive exchange platform integrating skills competition, academic discussion, achievement exhibition, cultural experience, and school-enterprise matchmaking. It aimed to promote deep exchange among young talents from the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong, and Macau regions, facilitating the enhancement of youth skill levels. Concurrently, the competition seized the opportunity of Shanghai hosting the 48th WorldSkills Competition in 2026, closely aligning with the theme of “Skills for Success and Craftsmanship for Dreams” to fully display the solid professional skills and abundant creativity of youth students from cross-strait, Hong Kong, and Macau.
To elevate the professionalism and influence of the competition, the organizing committee appropriately adopted standards and requirements of world-class competitions, allowing contestants to hone their capabilities within a high-specification competitive environment. Meanwhile, as the vocational education systems of the cross-strait, Hong Kong, and Macau each possess their own unique characteristics and advantages, participants were able to learn from one another and draw upon each other’s experiences through this event to achieve mutual progress.

It is committed to building a platform for students to practice and apply their knowledge, fostering independent thinking and innovative capabilities through competitive experiences, and encouraging students to courageously challenge themselves and break through their limits.
