The 2026 CGMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) was successfully held on 9 May 2026, at Hall N101 of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). Seven teams from local universities and nearly 100 MUST student participated in the competition. Students from MUST School of Business (MSB) demonstrated outstanding performance in the competition, winning the Championship and 1st Runner-up in the Macau region, while were also awarded multiple individual and team awards. The Champion team will represent the Macau region at the GBC North Asia Final in Guangzhou in 2026.

Distinguished attendees included Professor Sheng Ni, Dean of MSB; Mr. Paulus Chau, Director of Hong Kong and Emerging Markets of AICPA & CIMA; Professor Lin Yongjia, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance at MSB; Associate Professor Zhang Tianyu, Program Coordinator of the Undergraduate Accounting Program; as well as representatives of industry judges. Dean Sheng Ni and Mr. Paulus Chau delivered welcoming remarks to the contestants, attending faculty members and students. The participating teams then engaged in exciting competition sessions. Ultimately, “Team THW ban BP” and “MUST Gang”, composed of first- and second-year students from the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at MSB, stood out with their outstanding case analysis and precise responses, winning Champion and 1st Runner-up respectively. Amongst, the Champion team also won the “Best AI Application Award”, and team member Wang Yinan was awarded the “Future Business Leader Award”. In addition, the MUST teams “Team Four Guys” and “Team Beyond the Best” were recognized with Award of Commendation, showcasing the School’s strength in business competitions.

The CGMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) is a top-tier international business competition for undergraduate students worldwide, initiated by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA® & CIMA®). The challenge uses real-world cases from the CGMA Management Accounting professional qualification exam, focusing on assessing students’ ability to apply financial knowledge to solve practical problems in a simulated real-world business environment. In line with the rapid development of AI technology, GBC also encourages participants to make appropriate use of AI tools.
