On 8 November 2025, 24 students from School of Business (MSB) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) participated in the “17th National College Students Mathematics Contest Guangdong Section” Non-mathematics Category B Competition (Economics and Management). The competition contest aimed at inspiring deeper exploration of mathematics among university students, strengthening the logical reasoning skills essential for analyzing and solving practical problems. Ultimately, 14 students stood out and won the third prize, underscoring MSB’s efforts in integrating foundational disciplines with business education.
Jointly organized by Guangdong University of Technology and the Guangdong Province Mathematical Society, the competition drew participation from numerous higher education institutions across the province. MUST MSB sent a team of 24 students from the Bachelor of Applied Economics (BAE) program and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program to participate in the competition, under the guidance of Professor Ma Chao and Assistant Professor Tam Kwo Ping. Finally, 14 students stood out and were awarded Third Prize, receiving their certificates on 1 April 2026. Participating students remarked that the rigorous competitive environment not only served as a practical test of the mathematical knowledge acquired in the classroom, but also a valuable opportunity to cultivate mental resilience under pressure. The experience held lasting value for their future academic endeavors and future career development.
