The “29th China University Tennis Championship South China Division” was held from 3 to 6 December at Jinjiang. The tennis team from Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) won the championship in the Women’s Group A and the runner-up in the Men’s Group A. The champion and runners-up included four MSB students, including Guo Wanning (team leader), a first-year Master of Management Studies student; Zhang Xiuyun (women’s team singles), a third-year Supply Chain Management student; Zhu Wenjun (women’s team doubles), a fourth-year Accounting student; and Zhu Junyi (men’s team singles), a first-year Bachelor of Business Administration student. This competition reflects MSB students’ achievements beyond academics, and aligns with the School’s educational philosophy of supporting diverse student development.
Team leader Guo Wanning stated, “As the team leader, my major responsibility is to utilize my experience to formulate appropriate competition strategies, adjust tactics in time, and ensure the well-being of team members while safeguarding their safety.”

In the final of Women’s Group A, Zhang Xiuyun, as the first women’s singles player, secured a critical first point for the team. Subsequently, Zhu Wenjun successfully added another point in the women’s doubles final with a well-coordinated effort with her teammate, achieving victory for the women’s team and winning the championship.

In the Men’s Group A tournament, Zhu Junyi, as the second singles player, performed with his best alongside his teammates, advancing through the knockout rounds and semifinals to reach the final, winning the Men’s Group A runner-up, maintaining a top-ranked position for the second consecutive year.

MSB supports the diverse development of students and encourages their participation in different sports activities. The School hopes the team members will continue to refine their skills and achieve outstanding success, writing a more glorious chapter for the MUST tennis team. It is also hoped that they will embrace the persistent spirit of athletes and steadily progress toward their goals.
This year’s South China Division tournament was organized by the Chinese Student Sports Federation, executed by the university tennis branch of the federation, supported by the Jinjiang Municipal Government, and hosted by the Bureau of Cultural, Radio, Television and Sports of Wuzhou District, Huzhou City; and Jinjiang National Sports City Company Limited.
