School of Business at MUST organized Student Orientation for the 2025/2026 Academic Year Encourage Students to Seize Learning Opportunities and Broaden Their Horizons

The School of Business (MSB) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) welcomed nearly 2,300 new students for the 2025/2026 academic year, including approximately 1,020 undergraduates, 1,120 master's students, and 157 doctoral students. To help new students better integrate into the university learning environment, MSB Student Orientation was held on 27 August 2025 at the Auditorium of Block R of MUST, with nearly 700 teachers, undergraduates, master's and doctoral students attending.

During the event, Professor Sheng Ni, Dean of MSB, on behalf of all faculty and staff of MSB, warmly welcomed the new students from the 2 undergraduate programs, 11 master's programs, and 2 doctoral programs. Next, Associate Professor Zhao Honghao gave a brief introduction of MSB, including the teaching structure, faculty teams in MSB’s three departments, course curriculum, teaching characteristics, as well as various competitions and activities participated. He mentioned that MSB received accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in July 2023, placing it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide. This accreditation signifies that MSB has met international standards in development strategy, faculty quality, teaching standard, research outcome, student development, and social service impact.

Chair Professor Felix Tung Sun Chan, Vice-Dean of MSB delivered a speech as a representative of the faculty. In his address, he mentioned that entering university marks the beginning of an important new chapter. Students will face various challenges, which are crucial for self-growth. He encouraged students to actively engage in learning and exploring during their studies, while participating in diverse activities to establish networks. He also reminded them to be courageous enough to perceive and create. Lastly, he encouraged all students to broaden their horizons, build up friendships, and achieve personal growth during their university life.

The orientation also invited Mr. He Dichen, representative of the 2024/2025 academic year outstanding undergraduate graduate, to share his growth and experiences at MUST. He emphasized that staying true to one’s passions is key to success. He encouraged new students to explore courageously, and highlighted the importance of teamwork in the learning process. He hoped that they would plant the seeds of their dreams at the university, daring to pursue their passions and create wonderful memories in the university together.

Finally, Dean Sheng Ni presented the Dean’s Honor List certificates to students who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or above and ranked in the top 10% of their class for the 2024/2025 academic year. A total of 251 students were recognized this year. The orientation ended successfully with the teachers singing the University Anthem.
