Chen Kexin, a class of 2026 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance graduate from the School of Business (MSB) at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), has been awarded the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships”. She will soon depart for the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom to pursue a Master of Philosophy in Finance, making her the first MSB graduate to be awarded this scholarship.

Starting from the academic year 2024/2025, MUST and the University of Cambridge have joined hands to establish the “Dr. Liu Chak Wan Scholarships”, which supports three MUST graduates each year to pursue master’s degree programs at the University of Cambridge. The establishment of this scholarship is primarily due to the generous sponsorship of Dr. Liu Chak Wan, the Chancellor of MUST. It will cover the tuition and living expenses for the scholarship recipients studying at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Through this, Dr. Liu Chak Wan hopes to provide MUST students with more learning opportunities to develop an international perspective. He looks forward the students to apply what they have learned upon their return, bringing their professional knowledge and multicultural experiences back to Macau. He also hopes that they will know how to effectively utilize their ability to think from multiple perspectives to propose more innovative solutions, thereby driving Macau’s economic development while also cultivating more high-level talents for the country.

During Chen Kexin’s undergraduate studies at MSB, she achieved outstanding academic results across various subjects within the finance major. She also served as a research assistant to participate in academic research and interned at the Bank of China (Macau), gaining a wealth of practical experience. Driven by her passion for knowledge, she demonstrated a disciplined learning attitude and an increasingly mature professional competence. Ultimately, she was awarded the Silver Medal of the “President’s Medalist” for the 2025/2026 academic year and the Second-class Honor Cord from MSB, which are the well-deserved recognitions of her hardship.

Chen Kexin expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the generous sponsorship from Dr. Liu Chak Wan, the Chancellor of MUST. She stated that during her time studying at the MUST School of Business, she not only built a solid foundation of financial knowledge but also received many opportunities to step outside the classroom and explore different possibilities, transforming classroom knowledge into practice and continuously growing through challenges. She also thanked her teachers for their guidance, which allowed her to encounter knowledge and perspectives from various fields in class, enhancing her professional capabilities, and thereby learning to think independently, take on responsibilities, and find the direction she wishes to strive toward. She looks forward to giving back to society with what she has learned and creating greater value.
