MUST Students Achieve Outstanding Results at the 2024 “ICBC Cup” FinTech Innovation Competition for National College Students (Macao Regional Final)
Organized by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and hosted by its Macau Branch, the 2024 “ICBC Cup” FinTech Innovation Competition for National College Students award ceremony was successfully held on 26 February 2025 at ICBC Macau Branch in Dynasty Plaza. A total of 123 participants from six universities submitted 51 projects, with 16 outstanding projects making it to the finals. MUST students delivered remarkable performances, securing the First Prize, Second Prize, and Excellent Award.
The School of Business (MSB) placed a high priority on this competition and organized a dedicated campus roadshow on 21 February. 12 participating teams presented their projects during the roadshow session, followed by evaluations conducted by Assistant Dean Professor Tang Huajun and three Department Heads: Professor Chang Po Chien, Professor Li Xin, and Professor Lin Yongjia. Three exceptional works were selected to represent MUST in the contest, ultimately achieved excellent results. The first-prize-winning team will advance to represent Macao in the national finals.
The 2024 FinTech Innovation Competition, themed “Innovation in Technology, Creativity, and Scenario Application Design,” focused on cutting-edge trends in fintech. Submissions spanned diverse fields, including artificial intelligence, information security, anti-money laundering, inclusive finance, green and low-carbon initiatives, tech finance, cross-border finance, investment and wealth management, and digital currencies. Participants combined innovative thinking and technical expertise to align fintech solutions with the social development needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, showcasing fintech’s vast potential in addressing real-world challenges. Moving forward, the MUST MSB will continue its commitment to nurturing fintech talent with a global vision and innovative capabilities, contributing to the advancement of fintech in the Greater Bay Area and across the nation.
