The 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Universities' Accounting Business Knowledge Competition," jointly organized by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Promotion Association and the Guangdong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, officially kicked off in September this year. On the morning of October 19, the preliminary round of this year's knowledge competition was held simultaneously in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, with teams from 20 universities participating. The MUST WIN Team from the School of Business (MSB) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) stood out in the preliminary round, ranking first in the Macao region's written test and advancing to the final round with excellent results. The MUST WIN team included: Fan Keyu, Bai Yunfei, Wang Zhe, Han Wanrong, supervised by Associate Professor Chan Lyu and Assistant Professor Ruopiao Zhang from MSB.

The preliminary round was conducted in a written test format, covering professional knowledge related to accounting and finance, as well as hot topics concerning the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Through preparation for the competition, university students from the three regions learned about the relevant policies, regulations, and professional knowledge related to the construction of the Greater Bay Area, and enhanced their understanding of the alignment of accounting professional service rules among the three regions.

After the preliminary rounds in the three regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, teams from 9 universities entered the final round, gathering in Binhai Bay to compete together, learn from each other, and build friendships. On November 8, the final round was held at the Dongguan Binhai Bay Future School. Nearly 400 accounting experts, scholars, professionals, teacher and student representatives from the accounting sectors of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao actively participated in the event, including Li Xuhong, Deputy Director of the Administrative and Financial Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R.; Huang Duanlian, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial Committee; Zhong Kai, Second-level Inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance; Wang Qinghua, Second-level Inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Audit Office; Yu Qihan, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Institute of Internal Audit; Lin Difu, Executive President of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Promotion Association; Yang Chaofeng, President of the Guangdong Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Rong Zhicong, Director of the Finance and Taxation Department of the Finance Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. The final round consisted of four segments: theme presentation, team mandatory questions, team quick response, and risk-taking questions, comprehensively examining the students from the three regions on their grasp of professional knowledge and information related to the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The competition also tested the participants' comprehensive abilities in terms of analytical expression, responsiveness, teamwork, innovative thinking, and risk decision-making. This year marks the 5th anniversary of the release of the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area." To commemorate this occasion, the organizers set up a special theme presentation segment with the topic "Strategies and Measures for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the New Era." The MUST WIN Team from MSB conducted a multi-faceted analysis of the development of the Greater Bay Area during the theme presentation segment, focusing on new opportunities and challenges, rule alignment and mechanism coordination, strategies and suggestions for youth integration into the construction of the Greater Bay Area, and professional support for key development areas. They put forward their own ideas and suggestions, demonstrating the spirit of contemporary university students who are willing to explore, take responsibility, actively think, and eagerly participate in the construction of the Bay Area. In the team mandatory questions, team quick response, and risk-taking questions segments, the participating students from MUST demonstrated outstanding performance. They remained composed under pressure and collaborated on strategies together. With their solid professional qualities and superb competitive skills, they finally won second place in the fierce competition, bringing the event to a perfect conclusion.
