In the finals of the 3rd Global Supply Chain Modeling Design Competition, two teams "MUSTRUN" and "MUSTFLY" from School of Business (MSB), Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) won the second and third prizes respectively. The competition was sponsored by China Communications and Transportation Association, organized by Wuhan University of Technology and Training Center of China Communications and Transportation Association, and received technical support from Beijing Logis Co., Ltd. With the theme of " Cost Reduction, Efficiency Enhancement, and Strengthening Chain", the competition aims to solve practical problems in Body Fitness's supply chain management and decision-making, raise the company’s service standards and operating efficiency, and improve supply chain resilience and risk resistance capabilities. Based on supply chain modeling theory, participating teams combine big data, optimization modeling, and analytical tools to solve enterprise supply chain strategy and operation pain points.
This competition attracted 441 teams from 283 universities to participate, and a total of 1914 contestants participated enthusiastically. After fierce competition in the preliminary competition, 28 teams out of the challenge competition (including M.U.S.T., domestic 985, 211 universities, and other well-known foreign universities), 30 undergraduate teams out of the elite competition (limited to domestic ordinary universities), and 30 teams out of the elite senior vocational competition are promoted to the final. The final was held at Wuhan University of Technology from May 19th to 21st.
In this final, two representative teams "MUSTRUN" and "MUSTFLY" from M.U.S.T. performed well. Among them, the "MUSTRUN" team consisting of Lin Renzhong, Liu Chenyu, Sun Simiao, and Mo Xiaoling won the second prize; the "MUSTFLY" team consisting of Wang Ziqi, Gu Ye, Guo Tianyi, He Xinyang, and Yang Ruojie won the third prize. Furthermore, M.U.S.T. won the Best Organized School Award. In addition, their supervisor, Professor Tang Huajun (Assistant Dean of MSB), was awarded the Best Supervisor. The judges highly praised the supply chain modeling solutions of the two teams and provided many valuable suggestions for their innovative solutions.

Based on the baseline of the company, the representative teams optimized and innovated the network structure of the supply chain. With the help of supply chain modeling professional tools (Supply Chain Guru X), they carry out optimized modeling and simulation of supply chain networks and conduct visual analysis, mainly from the aspects of supply chain level, procurement strategy, and transportation strategy to optimize, in order to ensure customers to raise service level while improving supply chain resilience and promoting the development of green supply chains.
Professor Sheng Ni, Dean of MSB, concluded that the courses of MSB have always emphasized that students must be closely connected with business practice while learning theory. In recent years, ERP, big data, blockchain, and supply chain modeling training labs have been set up, which improves students' ability to analyze and solve practical business problems. MSB congratulates the two teams and their supervisor who have achieved excellent results in this global professional competition.
