October 12, 2023 - The final of the fourth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Universities' Accounting Business Knowledge Competition, co-sponsored by the Guangdong Cooperation and Promotion Association and the Guangdong Registered Accountants Association, was held as scheduled at Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College in Zhuhai city. The team "MUST DO IT" from the School of Business of Macau University of Science and Technology, led by Associate Professor Lyu Chan and Assistant Professor Zhang Ruopiao, topped the list in the Macau Region with an outstanding cumulative score and successfully advanced to this final.
The finals welcomed a pool of excelling teams from nine universities in the Greater Bay Area. The competition consisted of showcases of team spirit, case analysis, compulsory team response, team buzzer, and risk questions. It allowed participating teams to demonstrate their expertise, team collaboration spirit, innovative thinking, argument expression skills, and risk decision-making ability. The highlight was the team from M.U.S.T., which won high recognition from the judges for their case analysis theme "How can biomedical or traditional Chinese medicine enterprises seize opportunities and embrace the Belt and Road Initiative in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area." They excelled in the display of team spirit and case analysis, emerging at the summit with the highest total score. In subsequent rounds of compulsory team answers, team buzzers, and risk questions, the contestants from MSB showcased extraordinary composure while discussing strategies. They ultimately rounded off the competition with honors, attributing their success to solid professional foundations and superior competition skills, thus painting the perfect ending to this year's competition.
