The second “Nanjing, Hong Kong and Macau Youth Teachers and Students Academic and Cultural Exchange Camp” was successfully held at Hohai University in Nanjing, Jiangsu from December 17 to 21, 2024. A total of 14 teachers and students from the School of Business (MSB) of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) were invited to participate in this event. The activities are rich and colorful, covering academic reports, special seminars, enterprise inspections and other forms. This exchange camp further promoted academic communication and cooperation between MUST and the universities in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China.
In the academic exchange session, teachers and students from MSB of MUST and the Accounting Department of Business School of Hohai University had in-depth discussions on accounting teaching reform and academic innovation. Zhang Zhuo, Associate Professor of MSB at MUST, introduced in details the development history and internationalization achievements of MSB, especially the MSB’s remarkable achievements in global certification – from CPA Australia and ACCA certification to successfully obtaining AACSB certification, which fully demonstrated the MSB’s development strategy, teaching staff remarkable achievements in team building, teaching quality, academic research, student training and social services reflect the international standards of our school. In addition, PhD students Lian Bing, Wang Xiaomin, Ma Nanxin and Ma Chi also gave wonderful speeches about some cutting-edge topics such as green finance, digitalization and the impact of automated robots on corporate sustainable development, stimulating in-depth thinking and heated discussions among the participants.
On the 19th, the event organized a visit to Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group Co., Ltd., the largest state-owned enterprise in Jiangsu Province. Teachers and students had an in-depth understanding of the development status and operating model of enterprises’ cross-border e-commerce business, and discussed the enterprises’ innovative practices and strategic planning in international operations. Through this enterprise inspection, everyone has a more intuitive understanding of the practice of innovation and development in physical enterprises, which provides valuable reference materials for future academic research and practical teaching, and also greatly broadens students’ career horizons.
This academic and cultural exchange camp not only deepened the cooperative relationship between MUST and mainland universities, but also further enhanced the academic influence of MUST MSB in the mainland. This event established an important platform for cross-regional academic exchanges in the accounting field. Through the combination of academic discussion and practice, this event provided new ideas for universities in Ningxia, Hong Kong and Macau in terms of collaborative innovation and integrated development, fully demonstrating the far-reaching significance of this event.
