MUST team receives the top distinction in the university category
Organized by the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macau) and supported by Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region - Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the finals of “929 Challenge” competition was held on November 9 (Saturday) at the Sino-Portuguese Complex in Macau, aiming to promote innovation and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries through competitions. The Plant Protection UAV team of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) secured the main distinction in the university category, fully demonstrating that MUST students have professional and solid knowledge and practical skills in innovation and entrepreneurship. Members of the team include:Yang Tianhao, Liu Peiheng and Zhang Yinqi from year 2 of the School of Business, and Wang Qinyi from year 2 of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
This competition attracted more than 320 application projects from Hong Kong, Macao, Mainland China, Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique and other places. Among them, 16 teams were successfully shortlisted for the finals, including 8 university student teams and 8 start-up company teams. The participating teams showcased innovative project plans across fields such as energy and healthcare at the finals. Macau excelled in the university category, with MUST taking first place for an AI project aimed at identifying pests and diseases in agriculture, while the University of Macau placed third and the second place went to Shenzhen University.
