Participants in the competition are divided into three categories: the university group, the high school group, and the junior high school group. After intense competition and expert evaluations, 52 projects submitted by three groups were awarded out of over 300 entries. Among award recipients, Yan Zhan, the Year 4 undergraduate student from MSB, won the Gold Award in the university group. In his speech, Yan expressed that his essay titled “Starting from Macau, Becoming Waves that Unceasingly Sprout” was inspired by his observations of the development of the Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone during his studies at MUST. He believes that only by remaining committed to our goals can we effectively implement plans and achieve success. “Consistent with the principle of ‘patriots governing Macau’, the essay aims to encourage my peers to take on the historical responsibility for national advancement by taking ownership, studying diligently, and embracing innovation with a spirit of endeavor and perseverance,” said Yan.
The essay competition has been held for six years, which aims to provide a platform for students in Macau to exchange ideas and share their thoughts on the motherland and the Greater Bay Area, helping them stay connected with contemporary cultural developments.
