MSB Organizes a “Research and Statistics of the Monetary Authority of Macao” Seminar with Monetary Authority of Macao

The School of Business (MSB) held a seminar with the Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) in O602 on 17th October, and the topic is“ Research and Statistics of the Monetary Authority of Macao.” Professor Lin Zhijun (Vice Rector and Dean of MSB), Associate Professor Ma Rufei, Mr. Nicholas Z.T. Cheang, Senior Economist of Reasearch and Statistics Department, Yung Man Ting and Chan Wing Chuen, Assistant Economist of Research and Statistics Department, and as well as eighty MSF and MAE graduate students were attending the seminar.

The guest speaker, Ms. Yung, introduced the responsibilities and the official statistical work of the AMCM, and explained numerous examples of financial statistics such as money, mortgage and small and medium firms’ credit. Mr. Chan introduced Macao’s recent financial development and the AMCM’s work in promoting the development of Macao's characteristic financial development. After the seminar, guest speakers, discussed Macao's financial statistics work , research work on the establishment of a stock exchange in Macao, and other issues with faculties and students of MSB.

From this seminar, MSB master students of Finance and Applied economics knew the economic and financial statistics published by the AMCM, deepened their understanding of the Macao’s money and finance system, and gained many insights which will greatly benefit their learning finance and future academic and scientific research.
