Professor Bai Quan, the Executive Director of Energy Efficiency Center of Energy Research Institute, National Development and Reform Commission, visited the School of Business at the Macau University of Science and Technology on February 18th by giving a speech - the Status of China's Energy Consumption and Conservation. More than 40 staff and students from the Business School attended the seminar and discussed related issues with the professor. In his presentation, Professor Bai Quan analyzed the energy consumption of China during the 12th and 13th Five-Year Periods, discussed the energy forecast during the 13th Five-Year Plan period in China, and explained the relevant energy conservation policies in China.
Professor BAI is specialized in the research of energy conservation and energy efficiency strategies, planning, and policies, low carbon development and energy technology development. He is the Council Member of China Energy Research Society. Professor BAI has taking lead or participated in many key research topics, such as development of the 13th Five-year Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Planning, Re-inventing Fire: China, National, 12th Five-year Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Planning, China 2050 Low Carbon Development Road, Energy Conservation Priority Development Strategy, National Medium- and Long-term Science and Technology Development Planning (2006-2020) etc.
