Business school holds a workshop for advanced data analysis methods

The PLS-SEM (partial least squares structural equation model) workshop was held by MSB on January 23-25, 2018. The lecturer is Christian M. Ringle, the Vice President and Chair Professor of Hamburg University of Technology. The workshop attracted more than 60 attendees, including researchers from Beijing, Wuhan, Australia and Malaysia. The workshop is supported by the Macao foundation.

In the workshop, Professor Ringle introduced the application of big data and provided the SmartPLS software for the attendees. Professor Ringle guided attendees the basic and advanced techniques of PLS Path modelling.

In the graduation ceremony of the workshop, Professor Lin Zhijun, the Associate Vice President of MUST and Dean of MSB provided a MUST souvenir to Prof. Ringle, and congratulated to all attendees. Professor Sheng Ni, the Assistant Dean of MSB, also discussed the future cooperation with Hamburg University of Technology. Professor Ringle praised MUST students and promised to provide licenses of SmartPLS to MUST, so as to support future research, teaching, and training.

Hamburg University of Technology (Technische Universität Hamburg, TUHH) is one of the youngest and most successful universities in Germany. The cooperation agreement between TUHH and MUST was signed in 2016.
