Students of Macau University of Science and Technology won the First Prize in the National Final Competition of the “KPMG” 15th Corporate Culture Case Analysis Competition. The MUST team “Azure” is coached by Associate Professor Zou Wenchi at the School of Business. As a popular competition among the universities in China, “KPMG” Corporate Culture Case Analysis Competition combines academics and management practice. It contributes to cultivating future business elites with sense of social responsibility, elite awareness, innovation ability and teamwork. The competition involved the prestigious universities in China, receiving broad attention and reputation from the society.
The competition was hosted by Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University. Teams participated in the 15h national final competition on 5th May were from 16 elite universities, such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, China University of Science and Technology, and Xiamen University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc. These teams first selected in the form of report, presentation, oral defense, and scenario simulations at various universities, and then represented the school to the National Final. The team "Azure" won the Macau championship in Macau Region in April 2018 and accessed to the National Final Ticket.
In the final competition, 16 teams were divided into 4 groups for presentation in English and Q&A in Chinese. Only one team in each group could advance to the next round. In the presentation section, MUST team "Azure" analyzed the case in detail, actively studied the company, and adopted "competing values framework" as the theoretical support to diagnose and reform corporate culture. In the second round of scenario simulation, Song Jingyi performed excellently with unique and innovative perspectives, as well as concise and clear statement. Eventually, the "Azure" team of MUST won the championship in the National Final.
